DOAVV Content Actual Costs

Okay, so I know in order to get all the 3 DOA characters I have to potentially burn through a lot of crystals (I burned 40k for one 5star Marie Rose). What I didn't realize is in order to get all the costumes, you have to spend over $535?! (Before tax) Am I wrong about this? Is there any other why to obtain these alternate costumes?

You can get them through mods I know marie rose pink swimsuit is on there. No other way through the game and they are never coming back :) I guess protesting is hard because nobody is complaining about this event even though the rates are complete garbage and the prices sky high. 1.5-2%(.666) chance between 3 childs is worse than the .75 rate we had on the last one. Thanks for the 4-5* carta for spending 11k crystals!

  • [MMOSLASH] Solanor LV.17 Let’s play Destiny! Jun 3, 2019, 09:32 AM

I know right? I'm so surprised there is so small amount of complaints it's crazy... the prices are insane!

  • NO NAME verified Jun 3, 2019, 10:23 AM

Hopefully ppl vote with their wallets and at the least aren't buying those sets to complete the set.

Its all pointless if too many people still pay up to 4x all those sets to get complete costume sets.

Really think that these would have sold gangbusters if there was a reasonably priced way to get them.

  • Farron LV.24 Dragon Jun 3, 2019, 11:06 AM

I was so tempted to try and Max uncap all the DOAgirls. And I wanted to try and get all their costumes too.
I would easily be willing buy all of these if they were priced more reasonably. I just felt like I needed to post something about this because I was shocked once I noticed. I feel like it doesn't need to be this way.

  • LemonDr0p LV.21 Dragon Jun 3, 2019, 11:49 PM

Had they been $20, I would have jumped on that.

  • Diafylim LV.10 Nomad Jun 3, 2019, 11:12 AM

I originally felt tempted to purchase the D-pass at least, but with how disgusted I feel about the shop page package prices, DC global can suck the money from only the whales. I can use my $43.99 to pay bills, food, and any other expenses or heck, a console game or just about anything I can think of actually.

  • Foreverzero LV.19 Assassin Jun 3, 2019, 01:49 PM

I hear ya. I was really hyped for this collaboration and would have easily spent money on the pass, plus the costumes if they were decently priced. They actually forced me not to buy anything for this one. Greed has it's place, time and limitations.

  • Diafylim LV.10 Nomad Jun 3, 2019, 02:00 PM

I as well, actually a lot of us did as I remember how hype everyone was when it was 1st dropped officially here on Moot.

  • LemonDr0p LV.21 Dragon Jun 3, 2019, 11:49 PM

Unfortunately, I think people are still spending that money. I haven't see any of those costumes in my friend list or even in devil rumble but there are always big spenders out there. I just wish I could take a peek at the company's analytical reports. I live in Miami and I see people spend thousands of dollars at clubs, casinos, restaurants. $900 is a day's fun for them. While that's a crazy amount for the rest of us.

  • NO NAME verified Jun 4, 2019, 12:15 AM

That's the $950 question... How effective are the sales at that price?

Even if they have just 100 whales willing to fill that whole set globally it comes out to $95,000 assuming they do 4 plays of all 4 banners and Devils Pass. That's not that many people on a global players base.

And at 1,000, you clear just shy of a million. And that's assuming all of those lucky boxes result in full uncappings of the characters. Because once you are willing to pay $950 to complete everything, what is another $45 or $89?

  • U_U LV.9 Nomad Jun 3, 2019, 12:50 PM

Well i complain about the rates after spending 50k with not a single 5* and the high prices in a post and i get 4 down votes, so i think people is fine with this shit, and then said will do one multi and boom but man I'm still pissed and didn't even purchase this devil pass

  • Farron LV.24 Dragon Jun 3, 2019, 01:00 PM

Hey, that's cool u finally got Honaka. Nice

I got Marie after spending 40k crystals, which was most of what I saved up for this event.

I mentioned this on the Discord and it seemed like some people are almost defending it or they just don't care... I guess. It's weird.

  • Diafylim LV.10 Nomad Jun 3, 2019, 02:06 PM

Those down votes are just brainless sheeps. 50k and not a 5* to be seen is worst than my gold summons. Bet they'd be harping on a different tree if they were the ones to spend 50k and got nothing. Congrats again for pulling your DoA girl.

  • Farron LV.24 Dragon Jun 3, 2019, 01:08 PM

U wouldn't happen to know off hand a reliable source for modding the costumes would u?

  • Lungs LV.19 Insomniac Jun 3, 2019, 02:08 PM
  • LemonDr0p LV.21 Dragon Jun 3, 2019, 11:39 PM

I'll never be a top player at this rate so I'll settle for collecting the ones I really like. Having to save all your crystals for collabs leaves little room for max uncapping them. I don't know, we'll see in the long run, see if the general ones are enough.

  • Oliver Osborn LV.13 Try Hard Jun 14, 2019, 10:43 AM

Hey buddy, just want you know what you said is actually against user's term and conditions. We can do that ofc, but not so high-profile.

  • Albedo LV.20 Nightmare Jun 3, 2019, 11:22 AM

I have a question, how is it the prices on the screen shot 43.99? For me they are 49.99

  • StarBlaze LV.19 Dragon Jun 3, 2019, 11:23 AM

Android players pay $43.99 USD, Apple players pay $49.99 USD.

  • LemonDr0p LV.21 Dragon Jun 3, 2019, 11:41 PM

It's probably more expensive for apple players because apple charges them more. Apple is easier to use but I'm team android allllll the way.

  • NO NAME verified Jun 4, 2019, 12:16 AM

Android, for those that don't need everything done for them. 😜

  • Farron LV.24 Dragon Jun 3, 2019, 11:36 AM

I'm starting to think that anything having to do w/Tecmo Koei is gonna be outrageously priced. The DOA franchise DLC is like that and from what I hear so is the Dynasty Warriors franchise. I should have prepared myself for this... 'sigh'

  • LycaDelish LV.22 RIP Jun 3, 2019, 12:10 PM

Yeah, this isn't surprising if you're used to DoA's batshit insane DLC/cosmetics pricing.

Hey, at least mods are a thing I guess.

  • U_U LV.9 Nomad Jun 3, 2019, 12:53 PM

How can i use this mode your talking about please?

  • Farron LV.24 Dragon Jun 3, 2019, 01:06 PM

Do u mean the mods? I dunno. But I've seen it mentioned a few times. I wasn't aware that this game could be modded until now.

I want to get the content and support the game, but w/those prices, I can understand the choice to just mod instead.

  • U_U LV.9 Nomad Jun 3, 2019, 01:12 PM

I think he is talking about skins mods, and i think it's only for you that mean your opponent will see the original skin, i don't think it's hacking right?🤔

  • Farron LV.24 Dragon Jun 3, 2019, 01:51 PM

If it's a skin mod that only the player using it can see, than it's probably not hacking (hopefully). Since it's just changing one character image in the game to another image. Although I dunno if it's that simple.

  • Lungs LV.19 Insomniac Jun 3, 2019, 02:10 PM

Farron  You won't get banned for using skin mods. I sent you a link

  • Farron LV.24 Dragon Jun 3, 2019, 02:23 PM

Lungs  Ok, that's good too know. Thanks for the link. I appreciate that.

  • LycaDelish LV.22 RIP Jun 3, 2019, 11:45 PM

Farron  Don't worry about modding, you won't get banned. I've been using the uncensor since day 1 which is basically the same as costume modding, it's client-side only anyway. Only you will see the skin, but it's better than nothing.

  • Farron LV.24 Dragon Jun 4, 2019, 12:52 AM

LycaDelish  That's good to know. The uncensored mod sounds like something worth looking into. I had heard this game was censored but didn't look into it. Though there are characters (one in particular) that made me wonder if some editing was done after the original illustration was done. Thx letting me know.

  • LycaDelish LV.22 RIP Jun 4, 2019, 06:22 AM

Farron  If you Google "Destiny Child Uncensor", you'll find it. It obviously only works on Android and Android emulators, not on iPhone. It updates every time the game gets a big update, I highly recommend. I don't even know how people can stomach that god-awful Nirrti censor.

  • NO NAME verified Jun 4, 2019, 12:23 AM

Idk, this is quite the multiplier.

DOA costumes are usually like $1.50 per outfit in the bundles for the fighting games.

This is needing to pay $140-$360 just to get each outfit (plus some random chance boxes which may not even net the characters concerned on each pull). KT WISHES they had this level of pricing here.

I think the Western market has shown to be overly willing to fork over cash for simple cosmetics and this is a case of seeing what they can ask and get.

  • Farron LV.24 Dragon Jun 4, 2019, 01:21 AM

I think when it comes to Tecmo Koei, it's not necessarily how much per costumes. Sometimes it's just about the upfront cost. If u want DOA6 w/all dlc (day 1), that's $173. If u want to get all the DLC for DOA5, that's over $3k.

Now u could buy that stuff separately, but then if u don't buy the bundles it may be even more expensive.

It just seems like when u add it all up, Tecmo Koei content always seems to cost a grip.
    They didn't always do this.

They may think the West is just willing to spend a lot of money, but I also think that they are just banking on the sexual nature of the content to overcome common sense. Which also happens in the East. Like that one time a Japanese man spent the yen equivalent of over $6k over the course of 2200 attempts for a character in the mobile game GranBlue Fantasy... all In one night.

  • NO NAME verified Jun 4, 2019, 03:05 AM

Sure, if I want ALL of the content for a DOA game, its $3k or $93 for a season of costumes. BUT if I want to buy for just the character or characters I play as, there is an option to just get those (sometimes).

At least when you can do that (I know DOA5 did but not sure on DOA6), you get what I think is a fair trade. Because I can choose what I want or not.

A situation like we have here for the costumes in DC, its behind literally 4 paywalls. This is my first gacha so maybe this is normal.

  • Farron LV.24 Dragon Jun 4, 2019, 07:09 PM

I guess this is just a taste of what the prices would be if Tecmo Koei had their own Gacha game... Oh wait, i think they do.

  • Mirastoria LV.22 S Jun 3, 2019, 03:43 PM

Like always the same issue to me, the lucky box does not ensure the chance to get at least one copy, personally I am willing to buy Marie rose even one copy is good to me, but 10% is ridiculous low, well, some ppl will say it is higher than previous 3-6% but still. Besides, they are going to give a free Marie Rose costume with Mona support but no child?
So far, I pull around 50k from step up summon but only get 2 Kastumi and 1 Honoka, and several not related child.
Why can’t they just make a 1%*3 banners?

  • Farron LV.24 Dragon Jun 3, 2019, 04:27 PM

Yeah, I hear u. I would be willing buy the DOAgirls and their costumes if was just more reasonable.

It is weird (or just greedy) to have Mona Support give a Marie costume, but no way to get a guaranteed Marie child. They give us a way to get a guaranteed Kasumi child, and then we can buy one of the costumes.

It seems like between 30 - 50k crystals is how much it typically cost before getting a DOA girl so far.

  • yanrei LV.4 Lurker Jun 3, 2019, 06:45 PM

I just dont get it why they price it that high. Fanboi would argue because the collaboration fee is high but.. instead of charging 100 and expect 1 people (whale) can afford, why not price at 10 and expect 10 people to buy? Former situation expose business to concentration risk while latter situation in fact solidify players foundation and ready for expansion.

  • Farron LV.24 Dragon Jun 3, 2019, 07:08 PM

Makes all the sense in the world to me. But certain Asian companies seem to prefer to sale at hobbiest prices instead of making things affordable. I've seen it so many times w/other overseas games. Tecmo Koei is a prime example. I guess they figure the ones who really want it will buy it, and everyone else will ignore it. I dunno.

  • LemonDr0p LV.21 Dragon Jun 4, 2019, 12:01 AM

This is why I'd like to see their demand and supply, analytical reports. You'd think that in business it's more profitable to set prices low and have more people buy but that's not the case. There's a lot of analytics that goes on even with companies that don't provide a physical product (like netflix). I wish the comp would release a financial report and also how they come up with prices because everything is expensive as s***.
