Gacha Games are.... like Gambling to me.

I've seen a lot, or few people rant even vent on about Destiny Child summoning rate or or prices. Why? Cause he or she couldn't, get the 5 star or something has price too high. What's my take on rates & prices? Well it's quite fair honestly I suppose.

Now hear me out, think about it: What type of game is Destiny Child? Remember it's a Gacha Game, and the way I normally think it's pretty much gambling. Why? Well, before these Gacha Games, were capsule machines, and more than likely still are capsule machines. But I'm not here to give a history lesson, on gacha games. Remember that a lot of Gacha are... FREE TO PLAY, with it being FREE TO PLAY there will high prices on certain items. Actually a lot of free to play games, have somewhat similar features to a Gacha Games. In terms of YOU (the player), getting this legendary character, item, skin and etc. I could literally look at Smite, as a good example of me gambling to get a certain skin for a God. I would buy gems, and gambling my gems for a skin. Even if the game isn't free to play, games like Overwatch has loot boxes. Which was even called out for a form of gambling. Yes, I'm positive that a lot players get dissatisfied when if you lost 30k crystal to a banner. Of course you'll be upset, or frustrated who literally wouldn't be. I spent $60 on Newbie Mona, due to losing out on crystals. Was I upset? Yeah, but I didn't mind cause I'm supporting the game. Honestly you literally, don't have to spend money. APPRECIATE THE WHALES.... SOMETIMES..

Which is a no brainer, beside that's why whales exist. Whales in gaming terms are BIG SPENDERS, in games. Especially in Free to Play, and I can appreciate them. Why? Cause they're support the game more often, then I do. I myself I'm a whale in Smite, I spent at least $30 to $40 for gems. I'm sure a lot players literally hate whales, but at least they're support game you probably love. STOP PLAYING, IF YOU DOUBT YOUR LUCK

So should you be upset or frustrated, cause you miss out of 5 star child? Maybe, cause you did have the opportunity to buy the Child. Thou in the end you literally stop playing and move on. Don't stress out, about losing something. Unless you're Yumeko Jabami, then you might have a problem .

This pretty much on opinion, on how I feel about Gacha Games. I suppose you can say I, don't mind support the game, maybe whaling, and even testing my luck to the RNG system.

psychologically you get the same chemical "high" from gacha games and gambling, so yes I 100% agree with you <( ̄︶ ̄)>

Gacha and gambling are fundamentally the same. This is ok, as long as it's being marketed to the proper audience and the participants understand what they are going to experience when playing such games.

Great post. I agree with the paid to win hate for whales. I'm just a baby whale at most. I have spent the most on Eve, Bathory and Newbie Mona, but I have no interest in being in the top 100. I love the art most of all and the story and events keep me active.

This is a gacha game so the paid to win element will always be a part of the game. I know it is hard for a F2P player. I hope the lootbox regulations go through and tone down the excessive "predatory" practices also.

Great write up. Its is straight up gambling if you spend real money. I must be the saint then since I'm ok with whatever I get. I haven't spent a dime on this game yet. Its been a few months. I enjoy the game. I enjoy the story and the art. I only really wanted N.Mona and Bathory so and I got that so I'm ok for a while.

I do considered sometimes buying something just because I want to support the devs. I believe if you enjoy something you should support it, but the rates on the shop....

I also pretty much agree with the rest of your post as well! Some people don't fully realize this but whales completely keep the game running, and the pricing in gacha games is reflected for them. I know we wish that prices are often lowered so that we could support the game at more reasonable cost, bit it'll often result in less revenue for for the company. They rather have the whales support, but this effectively gives me some nice jiggle to look at for free (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

Those interested in this phenomenon can look up "niche markets vs mass markets"

I even know some people on other gacha games that spent as much as $1000 on a single banner. Compare that to my measily $18 I've put into DC since December 2018...

I feel like in this game, if I manage to have my gems saved up, I'm basically on the Hit List.
I always see posts about how people used 100k gems and didn't get what they wanted. And here I am, only rolled like two times or something with exactly what I wanted... :^)
I wish I could share my luck! I always feel so bad! Hopefully my luck doesn't change tho... *knock on wood*

Mmm. I don't consider it dangerous for children. Parent must give good education and everything will be OK.

Too many people believe investing is gambling. As it turns out, investing is not gambling. Is risk involved? Yes. Is reward involved? Yes. Is investing a game of chance? Well, that depends on your investing strategy. While this can all seem a bit overwhelming, we are here to help you. For example, did you know that there are online gambling sites that have been accepting cryptocurrencies for payments for years now? The industry has always been looking for innovate ways to manage payment processing, especially given how expensive the traditional methods have become. Crypto is an excellent solution but is still in its infancy, and many people have only learned about it in the last few months. Gambling is exciting. Investing, when done well, is really boring. I, too, am tired of reading/hearing quotes from the great investing gurus of our time, but Warren Buffett wasn't wrong when he warned, "Beware the investment activity that produces applause; the great moves are usually greeted by yawns."

Well, first things first, and I would at least find some trustful gambling bitcoin related websites, where I can not just play, but win as well, and not just regular money, but cryptocurrency. I know couple of truly nice web resources, like here ( url: https://tower.bet/crash ). By the way, it's not the only game they have on that platform. They have dozen of those ones, with different terms and conditions in every single game.
